I bought this for the reasonable price, and based on recommendations of others. I didn't expect a lot for the price but boy was I surprised! This is a sweet bass with great action. It played great right out of the box, needing virtually no set-up. It's light too...yet sturdy and fast. On top of it all it came in it's own gig-bag, which was totally unexpected. Granted the bag is not really heavy duty...you wouldn't want to use it for extensive touring, but it's a nice added extra and provides adequate protection for storage at home and casual transport.

Simply put, this bass is a beast. I've now had it for around six months. Recorded an album with it, and played a couple of dozen shows in the Tucson heat - including a directly in the sun park show. YES - IT'S PRETTY, BUT THIS BASS HOLDS UP TO HARDCORE MUSIC, AND HAS OUT-PERFORMED EVERY BASS I HAVE EVER PLAYED. Details? Solid hardware to begin with, pretty good set-up (not perfect, but I did not need to mess with the truss rod), gorgeous looks (the pictures do not do it justice), and sheer power (I did destroy a club's PA system with direct input). Reaches low tones and high with perfect control (you have well-constructed separate bass/treble, front/back pickup, and overall tone control). Active pick-up battery compartment is tightly shaped (no loose wires, no rattling battery), and even the strap buttons are anchored well. This foreign-constructed to American standards instrument is not too much for a starter (great action, EASY to play) and has a wonderful manufacturer backing up their product (seriously, as a fairly new company, Luna is responsive to whatever you need). If you have a choice between a Dean and a Luna, consider the instrument weight and price. You will be more than satisfied with Luna.
On the flip side, Kind of wondering why this particular item is not listed on the Luna website. It was registered with them perfectly, so no problems with the warranty, but it was hard to research this bass. do not let this dissuade you, buy this bass, and you will not be disappointed.
This is not a short-scale mock-up, this is a serious instrument that is well-balanced for the short and tall alike, easy as pie to learn on, and tough as nails when I put it to task at my shows. Yes, we mosh on stage, yes, we play aggressive music, and yes, the Luna bass is wonderful.
